Find YOUR Perfect Lingerie

without loosing your mind

Hello Gorgeous and, welcome to your boudoir!

As a photographer, I have dedicated my craft to helping women feel more confident in their bodies and a boudoir photoshoot with us can truly be a life-changing experience. Here, it’s about more than just getting sexy pictures. Our aim is to help everyday women like you to look beyond their inhibitions and limiting beliefs so that they can begin to recognize their beauty and start celebrating themselves for the strong, capable, and worthy women that they are. This is for every woman. This is for you! Are you ready to feel amazing?

By no means do we ever want to put a label on any woman.

It is something we have been told for so long if you aren’t built like a coke bottle, you’re not good enough. This blog isn’t about seeing yourself as any different, better, or worse than any other woman.
The truth is ladies… we all can wear whatever we want, what we feel comfortable and sexy in, there are no rules when it comes to what we choose to wear.

The purpose of writing this blog is to give you some tips on understanding your body shape and help find that perfect outfit to give your body that extra something.

Lingerie is about showing off who you are or who you want to be, and the right lingerie can unleash that sexy woman hiding beneath the surface and bring her out to play.
Some women are all over it and know exactly what suits them and will pull from their collection of lingerie pieces. However, some have no idea what they should wear when comes to their Boudoir Photography shoot.
It may be that they aren’t feeling confident about their body, or this is their very first time in front of the camera in a professional sense or maybe it’s their first-time buying lingerie. No matter the reason these tips can help you navigate what to wear for your boudoir shoot to highlight your shape and body in the most incredible way.
As a boudoir photographer, the question we get asked most often is, “What should I wear to my Boudoir shoot?”

First off, consider your body "SHAPE"

Are you more blessed in the back? Maybe you have a narrow body type, or maybe you’re curvy… So think about that, and think about the areas that you want to show off or conceal.

These are just five standardised body types and, you know that every body is different so it’s really challenging to make the perfect guide for everyone!

These are simple recommendations for the dos/don’ts of choosing lingerie! Just remember, talking to a lingerie specialist is ALWAYS the way to go!

Let's start with the most common shapes:

1. Rectangle Shape

Women with rectangular figures are slim with modest curves. To create more dramatic curves, choose a push-up bra since it adds oomph to your bust line. Boyshorts or a ruffled panty are flattering to a rectangular-shaped body with a narrow bottom.

We also recommend to wear:

  • Lingerie that cinches at the waist.
  • Corsets are the great option for that as they add curves and look sensuous.
  • A garter belt.
  • Stockings with heels will add to this look.
  • Accentuate breasts by going for push-up bras and bustier lingerie.

2. Inverted Triangle Shape

An inverted triangle is described as any body shape with larger proportions on top than on the bottom.

We suggest wearing the following:

  • Lingerie that cinches at the waist.
  • Halter necks are a great good option here.
  • A bralette with a matching lace panty or a thong is another sexy option.

3. Hourglass Shape

This body type is named for the contoured shape of your waist compared to your bust and hips.

We suggest wearing the following:

  • Lingerie that adds oomph to this  body shape.
  • Garter belts, bodysuits, and corsets are great choices.
  • Go for a high-leg panty.
  • Or a thong with a lace bra.

4. Apple Shape

The apple body shape is more of a rounder shape. A rounded waistline will suit lingerie that makes your body look proportionate.

We suggest wearing the following:

  • A baby doll dress will define the bust line which is always a winner.
  • A bodysuit or lace lingerie gowns are also great choices – they are sexy and gives you something to play with in your photoshoot.

5. Pear Shape

This body type is slender on top, and wider in the hips and legs. Big hips are all the rage right now.

We suggest wearing the following:

  • A lacy baby doll dress that shows cleavage but flows down around the hips is a great option.
  • A bustier is also a great option to draw attention to your breasts.

What To Avoid

  1.  Corsets IF too tight;
  2. Baby-dolls (will kill your curves);
  3.  Thongs (you want to have panties that shape your bottom and follow your curve line!).
  4. Bright colours (bright yellow, flash green, bright red…). Choose pastel colours, they will be just perfect!
  5. Stockings colour that matches and blends to your skin tone.

What do other women say about their Boudoir Sessions?

With my love for boudoir, I could go on for hours about why every woman should book a session. The best part is you don’t have to just take my word for it. Check out some of these amazing testimonials and live videos from clients who’ve had the experience!

Boudoir style photography was something I've always wanted to do and I finally acted upon that wish and booked in a session. It started with a phone call to Alessio who was just so friendly, guinuine and answered all my questions. Next came all the informative and helpful guides leading up to the big day. I felt prepared on the day and the photoshoot itself was so much fun! Alessio was professional but friendly and made me feel completely comfortable. I recently picked up my album and was blown away by the quality and the photographs themselves. I couldn't be happier with the result!

Meg Rao "A Photoshoot with Alessio is just an amazing experience!"

Alessio was a complete professional the entire time in the warmest, kindest and most respectful way possible. We had fun, we laughed a lot and I felt relaxed and happy as a result. I felt beautiful during the shoot and the photos were absolutely stunning. I love them and I am so proud of them. I could not recommend this experience more, it was so good and I can't wait to do it again!

Stefanie Carne "Being photographed by Alessio from Le Chat Noir Boudoir was one of the best experiences in my life!"
